Lesson 3 

Welcome to Lesson 3.

In Lesson  2, 

• We broadened our world and knowledge by listening to other professionals
• We downloaded and opened an FTP program called Filezilla
• We played with Filezilla a little and learned how to use it
• We downloaded an HTML editor called Seamonkey
• We did some exercises and used Seamonkey to evaluate HTML code
• First lesson in understanding html
• We reread Internet pages to refresh the bigger picture of making money on line
• We stopped and fueled our positive mind

In Lesson 3, like Lesson 1 and 2, we are giving you access to all levels of the lesson, whether you are a guest or a basic member.

In lesson 3,  we are going to hear more from the masters of the Internet, in our section called  "Learn form the Millionaire's" so as to expand your concepts of Internet marketing and give you other perspectives other than what I offer.

I want to reiterate,  how very critical these additional sessions will add to your overall expertise as you progress.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM LIGHTLY

I remember when I was in High School and I used to hate History and English classes. I remember thinking what the hell do I need this stuff for.  My mother would always tell me, that you are being taught that for a reason. They want you to be a well rounded individual and even though you do not see a time when it will be handy. Trust me son, you will need it more than you can imagine.

The older I get, the more appreciative I am of my mothers advise. Though my English would make my English teachers roll over in their grave, I am glad that I learned as much as I did, considering today I am a writer. LOL.

The well balanced education that is being offered on these pages, has a purpose that you may not understand at this time.

On top of learning the Internet marketing skills necessary to earn a living on-line, it is just as critical to develop your business acumen and wealth-mindset.

I do not want you to be like 85% of the lottery winners, who have windfall wealth and end up in worst financial shape 3 years later than they were before they won the money.  The problem is their business and wealth mindsets were not ready to handle that degree of success and so they blew through it and ended off worse than when they started.

Been there, done that, numerous times, have a closet full of t-shirts.

I have been through three small fortunes in my lifetime, so far. Each time my income and wealth sky-rocketed, reached a peak,  and then nose dived. 

As I became more astute and in tune with the Universal laws, I realized that all that happened was a universal law of  adjustment. The end result was a natural adjustment of my income and wealth in line with my current state of wealth mindset and my state of prosperity consciousness.

If you have ever studied Physics, it is similar to a law of water. Water will seek it's own level.  The stock market, the real estate market, the anything market is cyclical in nature and so will your growth and wealth accumulation.

Accept it. Embrace it. Enjoy it.

In my opinion, it is the number 1 enjoyment in life.

To experience the natural flow of the Universe and riding it like a surf board. The sooner you are in tune, the sooner you will enjoy the ride.

Wealth creation and wealth prosperity is a science. It is a law of the Universe, and if you follow the recipe and have the correct mixture of ingredients as the recipe calls for, your project rises and does not collapse like a cake, when the oven door is slammed shut.

Your wealth  will peak in glorious flowers and growth, then temporarily hibernate from time to time and maintain until the next spring comes around and  growth and new life abounds again. It is nature. It is cyclical. It flows with the Universe.

That is why it is so important to build all areas so that when the wealth does start to flow, you are deserving, you are prepared for it, and your mind is in tune with the wealth flow.

When the pieces of the puzzle starts to fall into place and the completed jigsaw picture starts to become reality,   you will remember a lot of what you heard and it will all mesh into what you are being taught.

You might think my philosophy is new-age at this minute, but you will be utterly surprised at how fast it makes perfect sense, and when you do, it will all flow so easy, as you flow with the momentum instead of against it.

So let's get started  

 I am really excited to bring you these two gentleman in todays lesson.

These two have been extremely instrumental in my learning process. I have learned so much from these two and I hold them in highest regard for a couple of reasons:

• They always present tested and factual information
• They definitely walk the talk
• When they recommend something it is important
  • Yes, they are marketers, but they have built their solid reputation on ethics and integrity. You won't find better mentors. Besides me of course.... Ha Ha

Membership is closed unfortunately, but they still provide many hours of free education and I will be bringing you some of their training videos in the advanced classes. 

When we are creating web pages and capture pages, we need to edit those files in order to create them.  We also need to keep track of where our files are and be able to download them - upload them while keeping our local file system and our remote files system in sync.

This can become a challenge as you develop more and more sites and systems.

Though Seamonkey is a great tool for quick editing of a page or putting together an HTML e-mail series,  it is missing advanced features that we will need as we progress. 

For one, if you are not using Seamonkey as your browser it becomes a nuisance to have to open SeaMonkey and then windows, and then composer. Since we are only using the html editor part, it becomes a hinder to production. Seamonkey also lacks the file management capabilities.

I originally questioned whether to show you both or not, but I concluded it would be a excellent learning experience for you to see some of the many options on the market. You can continue to use SeaMonkey if you prefer, but you will more than likely switch over to Nvu.

Nvu is a Web Authoring platform. It is a combination web authoring tool, file management tool, and ftp program wrapped into one. It to is made by Mozilla and so you will see that the editing features are almost identical to SeaMonkey's composer.

Even Nvu has it's limitations as a complete web development platform. For instance: It does not allow  you to work with PHP or Cold Fusion code. As you progress as a web designer, you will be using these additional languages, and will need to graduate to a web development platform such as Dream weaver Studio.

We are not going straight to Dream weaver for a couple of reasons. The package is in the $800 range, and all of it's options may be overwhelming until you know more.

 When you are ready to buy this package though make sure you let me know, because I have a source where you can buy this software or most any commercial software for 20 cents on a dollar.

The other program you will probably want to purchase in the near future is a product called Xsitepro.

Xsitepro. is  a website builder that makes it extremely easy to throw a website together and is geared towards putting together ad sense and affiliate sites.

It has built in training guides for search engine optimization, and is just a flat out good learning tool. Take time and watch the videos now. Even if you do not buy the product eventually, the videos will teach you about web site building.

For now though, Let's get on with the show and install Nvu and take a look at it's abilities.

How to Install Nvu Video

 In Step 2, We downloaded and installed a HTML Editor called Nvu.

In this step, we are going to take an overview of Nvu in Part 1, and then we will access a web page template and show you how easy it is to develop a sales page. 

 Alright we are moving forward.

Now it is time to review another critical element of our systems and that is our Auto Responder.

What is an Auto Responder?

An auto responder is a piece of software that will automatically send out predefined e-mails in a Pre-defined sequence, in a pre-defined time frame automating your follow up marketing.

This major element of a marketing system is crucial to your success. This little baby runs in the background 24 hours a day (once setup), nurturing, educating, touching, and marketing to your list with very little of your time.

When you setup lead capture pages and someone fills out the form, it automatically is placed in your pre-defined list inside the auto responder.... As the comedian says...

Poof, It's Magic....

An auto responder can also track the open rate (that is how many were actually read), your e-mails can contain variables that are replaced with actual data from the list as the e-mail is being sent out, which allows you to personalize your mail.

The bottom-line, if your auto responder is setup correctly, it will generate you a ton of sales with very little effort.

You have numerous options when choosing an auto responder.

1. You can buy software and have an internal system hosted on your server
2. You can lease a service such as Aweber or Get Response, which are the only two I recommend.
3. A Rouge Auto responder
4. A Full Fledged Grand Daddy CRM (Customer Relation Management System)

There are obvious pros and cons of each of the four options, and of course there are many options within each of those 4.

I want to briefly cover the pro's and cons of each, so you understand why I am recommending what I am recommending at this time....

The first option is a purchased software option and there are many good programs out there and if you want to go that route eventually, let me know and I will recommend a couple.

Maintaining your own Auto responder Software on your hosting account:

The pros:

• The data is on your server and you have control of it.
• You have a one time purchase
• Usually has more flexibility because you can import leads etc
• Can maintain lists into the millions

The Cons

• The Data is on your server and you have control over it
• That also means you have to make sure your delverability stays high
• Which means constant phone calls to ISP's tryng not to be blacklisted as your list grows
• If you get a spam complaint whether valid or not can get your service shut down and then you lose all your hosting sites etc.
• You will spend all your time trying to keep your domain white-listed
• Let someone else do that

When I get to a point where my list is huge - over 10,000 or I am buying optin leads and i want to import them, I will usually find a hosting company in India or china who is spam friendly, load my auto responder on it, and mail away. I have used a lot of auto responders and the one I prefer is called Contactors Plus. It cost $595 but is a multi-user unlimited setup with RSS feeds and the whole bit.

A Rouge Auto-Responder Service is a service that will let you do anything. Import your own leads, etc. They cost more, and the deliverabilty in most cases absolutely stinks. If you can imagine how hard it is to keep a domain legitimate when you have 100 users of the auto responder doing anything they want, and mailing to any kind of list that people want to mail.

If the company you choose does not have tight rules on importing, IP Address tracking etc. stay away from them... unless your intent is to load a couple hundred thousand opt in leads that you bought and blast them in a shotgun approach, knowing you will get shut down.

A Full Fledged CRM System like Infusion CRM. I believe this is the ultimate goal of everyone and I intend to upgrade as soon as possible. If you want to truly market, you need to have a complete automated system with built intelligence that handles your leads in detail.  With infusion you can track your clients buying habits in minute details automatically, you can develop rules and move clients from category to category depending on their reactions or purchases. It keeps a detailed record of every capture page, free download, purchase the client has made, and thus you can interrogate and determine patterns and automate the decision process. This system which is the best on the market period,  will set you back $5,000 up front and then monthly $300-$700 a month depending on the bells and whistles... Take a look at the demo when you get the chance so you can appreciate the level of automation it provides. Watch Demo Here

Again, I don't expect you to buy this package, but the demo will teach you about managing your data, and what your end goal is with the data you collect as part of building your list and managing your customer information.

Of the leased services, Aweber and Get Response would be my first recommendation and choice starting out. 

The other great option is 1st Shopping Cart which has an integrated Shopping cart, Tracking system, affiliate tracking, and auto-responder all in one system. It will cost you $49-$99 a month. The great thing about 1st Shopping Cart is that all your data is in one place because it has a built in affiliate tracking, unlimited auto-responders, and shopping cart which tracks customer purchases, similar to Infusion CRM but with much less sophistication. So 1st Shopping Cart is a complete CRM (Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)  but it is still in the minor leagues compared to Infusion CRM, but very powerful in it's own right and many of the big dogs use this company.  If you are totally serious about Internet marketing and you have the finances, you may want to jump directly to 1st Shopping Cart.

As of this writing, you can sign up for a thirty day free trial of 1st Shopping Cart.   1st Shopping Cart is what I used before and it is an awesome system. 

I do not use it presently, for a couple of reasons, 

1. The membership software - Member speed that I used to build this system does not integrate with 1st Shopping Cart. 
2. Member speed provides it's own built-in auto responder and affiliate tracking system.  
3. I plan on moving to Infusion CRM  as soon as possible. I am in this business for the long term, and I want to grow and nurture my customer base effectively and efficiently and so I will move to Infusion CRM as soon as I can.

 In the meantime, I am using multiple platforms to manage my Customer relations and they are the same as I am recommending in the next paragraph.

For most of you, Aweber or Get Response will be your selection because of the low startup cost and it will do most of what you need it for, and it is less than $20 a month.

I have both an Aweber account and a Get Response account. To be honest with you I like the setup process better in Get Response better than Aweber. I think it is way more intuitive and user friendly.

Having said that, I still have to recommend Aweber because it interfaces with more products on the market because it is the most popular.

So Aweber is what i recommend, and they have a free 30 day trial account which will revert to a full blown account. I suggest you go ahead and pay for the year, so one you get the discount, and two you know your leads won't disappear if life gets in the way. 

 Notes: As I have told you in my writings, I teach by showing you.

I want you to go to the top of this lesson, and re-read lesson 4. Notice all the hyperlinks that point people to products that are relevant to what I am writing about. Notice how I blended them into the education. Only experienced Internet Marketers would know that I am trying to sell you those products, if not today, sometime in the future.

I gave you my honest opinion on each of them, gave you an opportunity to go evaluate them on your own - (Not only does that pre-sell, it teaches you options, and lessons that you will need to learn). Now I over did it on purpose. I was hoping you would notice and figure out what I was doing ahead of time. Did you?

Now, I went overboard above. I would normally not hyperlink every occurrence of a word, I did it to see if you would notice and recognize what I was doing..... these are called affiliate links by the way.  Yes, very good..... If someone clicks on one, and ends up buying, I get  a commission because I introduced the party to the company. Pretty neat Huh!

Also, notice that when you click on those links, how they open in a new window. This is a very important trick to remember. If you open the link in a new window, then all they have to do is close the window and continue, whereas if you open that link in the same window, you take a chance of losing them. If you lose them, you have defeated your purpose and have sent them to the other site... Understand?

I want to reiterate what I said above. I want you to take the time right now, and watch the demos of each product. Pay attention to the lessons to be learned.  Do not concern yourself with the actual How to... Concern yourself with the bigger picture and the possibilities, the design knowledge, the nurturing knowledge.  It is OK, if you can't figure out how it all fits together. It is OK to feel a little lost. I am trying to expose you to the types of tools that are required to build a huge business and doing so, you will learn what you have to do manually on a smaller scale now.

Do not go onto Step 5 until you have done this...

In step 5,  we are going to take our first steps to developing our web presence.

Starting a blog will start to get our feet and what a better way to start than to start with what I believe is the best bogging software on the market, and that is Word press.

To top that is is FREE.... Yeah!.

In fact, almost every hosting company that utilized Cpanel or Plesk, to refresh your memory, Cpanel and Plesk is the software which controls the back office of your hosting account. It is the software that allows you, add domains, setup ftp, setup your mail accounts etc.... Remember... LOL.

Under your Cpanel, there is an icon called Fantisco. When you click on that, it opens up a wide world of free software that you can easily install to your domains. In fact, if you have a Hostmonster account, which you all should by now. Hostmonster added a new feature the other day, called easy script installer, which is supposed to be more sophisticated, easier to use, and offer more software choices than Fantisco. So check it out next time you are logged in to your hosting Cpanel.

The reason I said all that is to inform you that Wordpress is one of those free softwares that you can install at the touch of a hyperlink.

In this step, we are finally going to install our blog. Hurray.... I didn't think we would ever get to this point.

You will be amazed how easy it is to install a Word Press Blog. In future Lessons we will cover the modifying of headers and graphics, picking a theme, and uploading and installing plug ins.

In this step we are going to install a Word Press blog using Fatistico and simple scripts.

So lets do it.....

In this step,  we are going to Explore the administration panel of your new Word Press blog.

After I walk you through an overview of the administration panel, I want you to spend time playing with all the features. Post a blog, add comments, add and change categories, tags, and users.

It is up to you to learn what happens when you do this and what happens when you go that, and the only way for that to happen is for you to sit there and play with it. Go into each area and make a change, note what happens to the page. Figure out which options you want turned on and which ones you want turned off. Add 5 or 10 posts, move the widgets around, look at every menu item and play have a good time..

The worse that can happen is that you uninstall the blog and do a new install and start over. What a better way to learn than to mess up the blog numerous times.. LOLOverview Master.

After you have been playing or while you are playing and experimenting with your new blog, watch the support video, and start exploring www.wordpress.org and the support areas. Read the getting started. Watch some of the tutorial videos. Get an overall picture of the different things you can do with a Word Press Blog.  See the possibilities.

Last week we downloaded and read chapters 1 through 4 where Napoleon Hill covered Desire, Faith, and Auto-Suggestion.

This week I want you to outline in your journal his key points in chapters 2, 3 and 4.

Write an 1000-1500 word article on these concepts.

Just give it a try. Each time you write, your writing will get better.

After all... How do you get to Carnegie Hall?

I always loved that part of the Hermit the Frog movie... Do you remember that... It was classic. 

This is not the first time, nor will it be the last time that I rant and rave about the importance of seeing the big picture.

As we move forward, the vision of your future business should evolve and start to appear in your minds eye. I want you to be able to imagine your money producing machine. I want you to be able to see all the moving parts and how they integrate and leverage each other to produce exponential energy and cash flow.

You are slowly getting to the point that you can imagine putting all the little pieces together and constructing an automatic system that takes leads in one side, then direct them through all the channels, rolling down the conveyor, hitting the pendulum which causes another mini-system to start-up, while the ball continues rolling down the conveyor as it touches and starts more chain reactions. Every new system it fires up, produces more and more energy, and more and more income.

A Blog here, Capture page there, authority site over here, traffic bouncing between them with controlled precision. Affiliate pre-sell pages, connected to adsence revenue related pages, with lead generation pages while exchanging traffic with sister sites. The larger the synergy of the integration becomes, the greater the force that is output.

Bottom-line... You have to be able to see the vision to build it. You have to be able see the step by step instructions to construct your machine. 

Even as I write, the vision is evolving in your head. There is still some mysterious and unknown components that are missing but that is OK, you are starting to see the potential relationship of the different parts, and you are amazed at how you are actually starting to see how they can and will integrate.

I have written and discussed on the calls what we are now implementing. We are presently building a foundation of our skyscraper. We want to build a solid and deep foundation with a wide enough base to support the tower we build upon that foundation.

Whether you plan on building a skyscraper reaching unlimited heights, or just a 3 story production facility, we need to build a foundation strong enough, wide enough, and deep enough to support what ever heights we want to build today and in the future.

We have talked about implementing a basic system of a blog, lead capture pages, and a website containing ad sense and affiliate links. We have implemented the first piece of our new mini-system.  We will add some more components in the next couple of lessons. Then we will start driving traffic to the sites.

We are going to build a foundation so well constructed that it becomes easy to add on wings and adding floors, while we add layer upon layer.
